Sandy R. Healy, age 77, died peacefully at her home in Hollis, New Hampshire, on November 26, 2024. She was born in the District of Columbia on October 6, 1947, to the late Lt Col Peter W. Richardson and Josephine Huffines Richardson. She was survived by her husband of 35 years, James W. Healy of Hollis, New Hampshire. A few hours after Sandy passed, her husband also passed.
Sandy and her siblings moved all over the country as children because her father was in the United States Air Force. Some places Sandy resided in included Burlington, Vermont, Chanute Air Force Base - Illinois, Wright Patterson Air Force Base - Ohio, Edwards Air Force Base - California, San Diego, California, and Kingsville, Maryland. She spent several summers in Manchester, Tennessee, with her siblings and cousins at her late paternal grandparents Lt Col Francis Harrie Richardson and Rose Mansbridge Richardson's home.
Sandy graduated from Concord Carlise High School in Concord, Massachusetts, with her first cousin, Billy Anderson, in 1965. She continued her studies at Plymouth State University in Plymouth, New Hampshire. Sandy was an incredibly organized individual, an indicator of great intelligence and emotional stability—likely inherited from her grandmother, Nana Rose. She worked at Healy Systems, creating a communication network even before the Internet to keep their sales, customer service, and maintenance top-notch. Prior to working at Healy Systems, she worked at Sullivan & Cogliano in Waltham, Massachusetts.
Sandy enjoyed the summer sun, ocean views, and warm weather. In the winter months, she and Jim spent time in Florida, some years in Key West, and their later years in St. Petersburg. In the summer, they retreated to their New Hampshire home, where Sandy would spend time by her pool and enjoy her flowers, especially the lantanas. Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Josephine Richardson, sister Anady Hopf, and daughter Susie.
Sandy is survived by sisters Leslie Jerlinski (Ed) of New Hampshire, Daphne Perry (Stan) of Georgia, and Harriet Seacat (Sky) of North Carolina and brothers Peter Richardson (Patty) of Texas and Harrie Richardson of Oregon. She is also survived by nieces Anady Holton (Justin), Sandy Duckworth (Justin), Kimberly Richardson and nephews Jacob Richardson (Tasha), Timothy Tucker, Anthony Richardson (Janet), Casey Richardson (Analise), and great-nieces and nephews Summer Martin (Jordan), Lillian Duckworth, Keegan Richardson, Kinsley Richardson, Jackson Tucker, Emily Tucker and Lucy Tucker.
Sandy was a beloved matriarch and guiding light for her family. She leaves a legacy of strength, grace, and unwavering determination. Sandy will be cremated at Compassionate Cremation Services of New Hampshire in Wilton, New Hampshire. The interment will be at Greenview Cemetary in Reidsville, North Carolina, on Saturday January 18, 2024 at 12:00 PM with her late maternal grandparents, John D. Huffines and Vera Alexandrovna Yanchevskaya.
