Sandra “Sandee” Morris Wiggins, 57, of Eden was called home to the Lord Jesus on Monday, February 28, 2022, surrounded by her loving family after courageously fighting a 2 ½ year battle with cancer.
A celebration of life memorial service will be held 4:00 PM, Thursday, March 10, 2022, at Osborne Baptist Church with Pastor Steve Griffith officiating. For those unable to attend, the service will be streamed live for your convenience. Visitation with the family will be received at the conclusion of the service.
Sandee was born on April 26, 1964 to Alton and Florence Morris (Kettering) in Wurzburg, Bavaria, Germany when her father was serving in the United States Army. Sandee was raised in Sylacauga, Alabama and was a member of the gymnastics team for Sylacauga High School. She earned a Bachelors and Masters in English from Auburn University that launched a career in teaching high school English. Most recently, Sandee was a school guidance counselor at Rockingham County High School after obtaining a Masters in School Counseling from Liberty University. Sandee served in public education for over 30 years.
Sandee was blessed with the gift to relate to people out of kindness, humor and love. Her glowing smile and heart for others was a reflection of her discipleship and faith in Jesus Christ. She was a patient listener and treated her students with genuine care and viewed them as unique individuals with God-given potential. She enjoyed serving at Osborne Baptist Church where she was a member along with her family for over 17 years. She was an incredible, loving mom to her children and a giving, wonderful wife. Her favorite times with family was spent taking trips to the beaches of North Carolina. Sandee’s presence will be greatly missed but her approach to life will be remembered and will continue to shine through those that knew her. We look forward to the day that we can see her again in the glory of heaven.
Sandee is survived by her husband of over 22 years Thomas Wiggins, Jr.; son Abraham Wiggins, daughter Hannah Wiggins, stepdaughter Syndle Wiggins; mother Florence Morris; brother Steven Morris (Pamela); and loving in-laws, nieces, nephews and extended family.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made to either Hospice of Rockingham County or to The Barry L. Joyce Local Cancer Support Fund.
