Sarah Pickard Brown

Sarah Belle Pickard Brown, 80, of Reidsville, NC, died Wednesday, December 18, 2019. A funeral service will be held at Grooms Chapel Missionary Baptist Church at 12:00 PM Monday, December 23, 2019 with Dr. Kevin D. Sturdivant officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Born in Reidsville, Sarah was one of seven children born to the late Rev. James and Edna Neal Pickard. Sarah attended the Wake County and Rockingham County School systems and she pursued further studies at Winston-Salem State University. Sarah joined Grooms Chapel at an early age under the leadership of Rev. G.H. Badgett. She was a faithful and devoted member for over 50 years, participating in the Senior Choir, Missionary Circle and Pastor’s Aide. Sarah lived her life by the Golden Rule; “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you”. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Leroy Brown; brothers, James, Charles and William Henry Pickard; sister, Pearl Wilson. She is survived by her three daughters, Trevaughn Eubanks, Sheila Broadnax and Gretchen Sullivan; grandchildren, Britni, Jalen and Bryan Brown, Taylor, Cameron and Lawren Sullivan, Jessica Eubanks; siblings, Thomas Pickard (Rebecca), Robert Pickard (Clementine) along with numerous nieces, nephews and a loving extended family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grooms Chapel Missionary Baptist Church Building Fund at 2166 Grooms Rd, Reidsville, NC 27320.
