Reidsville: Reva S. Clark, 74, of 3280 Timber Stream Drive, Southport, NC, formerly of Reidsville, NC, passed away peacefully at Dosher Memorial Hospital on April 15, 2009 in Southport, North Carolina. A Graveside Service will be held at Greenview Cemetery in Reidsville, North Carolina on Friday, April 17, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. The Reverend ­­­Michelle Chappell will be officiating. Visitation will be at the cemetery immediately following the service. Reva was the former Reva Ann Sasser and the daughter of the late Joseph and Lois Sasser. She was a lifelong Methodist. She graduated from Reidsville High School where she was named Miss Reidsville High of 1949 and attended Women’s College in Greensboro. A lifetime artist, she taught and attended art classes at Rockingham Community College. She was the recipient of several artistic awards from the Rockingham County Fine Arts Festival. After moving to Southport in 1993, she continued her artistic endeavors studying under Rusty Hughes and showing her artwork in local businesses and galleries. Through her art classes she was blessed with a wonderful group of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her bother Joe Sasser, Jr. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Jonnie Clark, her daughter Laura Clark and her sons Justin Stadler and his fiancé Julia Ponteri and Landon Stadler, all of Southport; her daughter Karen Clark Baker and husband Reid Baker, and their daughter Allison, of Greensboro; daughter Melissa Clark Gibby and her daughter Meredith Gibby of Reidsville and son, Clark May of Louisburg, NC. She is also survived by her dog-children, Babe and Dolly. Jonnie and the family wish to extend a special thank you to all of their neighbors, friends, and caregivers for their kindness and support during Reva’s illness.
