Serene Patterson Strader

Serene Patterson Strader, 50, of 2450 Sandy Cross Road, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 2, 2019. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM, Monday, April 8, 2019 at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Pastor Bruce McBride officiating and the burial will follow at Reidlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Serene was born in Rockingham County and was an employee at BB&T. She was an extraordinary person with a huge heart; she was a great mother, aunt and friend. She was an avid UNC Tar Heel fan and she loved her Washington Redskins! Serene was preceded in death by her son, Chase Durham; her father, O.T. Patterson; her sister, Tassie Justice; and her brother, Brian Patterson. She is survived by her daughters, Brooke Strader of Dallas, TX and Madison Strader of Reidsville; her grandchildren, Terrah and Thea Reynolds; her mother, Marlene Gammon and husband, Clint; her brother, Bob Patterson; her brother-in-law, Matha Justice; her special niece, Kameron Utterback; and a large extended family.
