Shelia Marie Cannon Fuqua

Reidsville – Shelia Marie Cannon Fuqua, 50, passed away at home early on April 5, 2016. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:00 AM April 7, 2016 at Crossroads Baptist Church with Pastor Timothy Redman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Sheila was born in Reidsville on February 1, 1966. She was married for 33 years to the love of her life, Paul. Her favorite times were spent camping with the kids at Bugs Island. People around her loved her cooking, her singing and her giving nature. She was a very active member of Crossroads Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, cleaned the church and helped her husband mow the yard faithfully each week. Heaven has gained one of the sweetest and most compassionate souls that cared for everyone around her. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sheena Marie Fuqua and her son, Paul Gary Fuqua, Jr.; her dad, Jack Cannon Sr.; her brother, Jimmy Cannon; her sister, Edna Brandon; Barbara and Bill Durham, sister and brother-in-law; and Edd and Sandra Fuqua, brother and sister-in-law. She is survived by her husband, Paul; her mother, Lula Cannon; five grandchildren: Shelly Fuqua, Brianna Shoemaker, Paul “Paulie” Fuqua III, Preston Shoemaker and Makayla Fuqua; sister, Teresa Harmon and husband, Billy of Reidsville; brothers: Jack, Steve, and Roger Cannon, all of Reidsville; her special niece, Liza Coombs and husband, Jamie of Mebane; her nephew Eddie Fuqua and wife, Susie of Reidsville; her best friend, Angie Johnson of Reidsville; and a large extended family and many friends. The family will receive friends and family on Wednesday evening from 6-8 PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at the home.
