Shirley Cobb Chapmon

Shirley Cobb Chapmon, 85, of 1605 Pearman St., Reidsville went home to be with her heavenly Father on November 9, 2022. 

A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 12, 2022, at Evergreen Memory Gardens with Rev. Dennis Chapmon officiating. The family will receive friends after the service at her home. 

Shirley was born in Rockingham County to the late William and Vera Strader Cobb. She was a longtime and faithful member of Community Baptist Church. After her son Dennis returned home and was called to pastor Mt. Hermon Baptist Church, she savored the opportunity to be with Dennis on Sundays to hear him preach God’s Word. The Mt. Hermon church family embraced and loved her, and she cherished her newfound friendships. Shirley and Tommy lived to serve The Lord, their family, their friends, and anyone in need. She was known for her overwhelming generosity, quick wit, and steadfast faithfulness. Along with her parents, Shirley was also preceded in death by her husband Tommy Chapmon; sister Louise Cobb; brother Ronald Cobb.

She is survived by her children, Dennis Chapmon and wife, Joanna, Cathy Lawrence and husband, Ray, Brian Chapmon and wife Meredith, Lynn Chapmon and wife, Alice; 11 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; sister Colleen Stadler and Miles; brother Roger Cobb and wife Brenda; and a large extended family.
