Stephen Holt Underwood

Reidsville: Stephen Holt Underwood, of 146 Wright Trail, went home to be with The Lord on Saturday, October 22, 2016. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Pastor Virgil Whaley and Rev. Terry Larson officiating. The interment will follow at Lick Fork Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Stephen was born in Rockingham County. He was a master craftsman and the owner and operator of Underwood Home Improvements serving customers all over North Carolina. He was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church. He was a true Tar Heel fan and sports enthusiast. Stephen’s passions included hunting, fishing, blue grass music and spending time with his wife and family at the beach. Stephen will be remembered by his family and friends for his jokes and his passionate conversations. He especially enjoyed his time hunting with his grandson and “hunting buddy”, Hunter and he adored his granddaughter Bella who both affectionately called him “Big Daddy”. He is survived by his wife, Ann Gibbs Underwood of the home; his daughters, Kathryn Underwood Stone and husband, Robert, Morgan Underwood Brooks and husband, Cody and Alison Underwood; his grandchildren, Hunter Underwood and Bella Stone; his parents, David and Mary Allen Underwood; his sister, Cindy Whitley and husband, Whit all of Reidsville; nieces and nephews, Brittney and Zach Breeden, Hannah and Clyde Evans, Dean and Dawn Stone, Tina Blassingame and a large extended family. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at Cindy and Whit’s home (1312 Berrymore Road, Reidsville).
