SueAnn Martin Haskins

Reidsville- SueAnn Martin Haskins, 64, of 371 Mark Rd., passed away on Saturday, May 10, 2014, at her residence. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, May 13, 2014, at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor A.C. Palmer officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memory Gardens. SueAnn was born in Norfolk, VA to the late William Thomas and Josephine Palumbo Martin. Growing up as a Navy brat, Sue and her sisters lived at several bases along the east coast before settling in Reidsville NC in the early 60’s. Sue has always been known for her love of life, huge personality and the fact she never meet a stranger. Sue loved people and was considered a character among her friends, family and at the American Tobacco Company, where she retired after 23 years. After living in GA briefly with her husband William, whom in Sue fashion she married in Las Vegas in 1986, she returned to Reidsville where she has lived the last decade. She loved to travel and she and her husband William would take many trips each year. William, a former pilot, and Sue would often take his plane out for day trip around the area. Sue always included her twin and partner in crime JoAnn in her many adventures through-out her life. Closest to her daughter ‘her Chrissy’ whom she was devoted mother too. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her twin sister, JoAnn Martin and a nephew, Michael Turner, Jr. Survivors include her husband William Clayton Haskins of Reidsville, her daughter, Christina Burke and husband David of Alpharetta, GA; her stepson, William Phillip Haskins and wife Ellen of West Virginia; her step-grandson, Joshua Haskins of Wichita Falls, TX; her sisters, Mary Jane Turner of Reidsville and Grace Marie Butler and husband Rudy of Virginia; her niece, Melissa Underwood; her nephews, Jeffrey Boyd, Mark Turner and William Butler and her great nephews, Joshua, Cameron and Elijah. The family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M., Monday, May 12 at the funeral home and other times the family will be at the home.
