Browns Summit – Sybil Herbin Shreve, 89, of 4430 NC Highway 150 East, one of Browns Summit finest examples of Christian living and love for the community was called home Monday, June 20, 2011 at Ashton Place. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Drum officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeview Memorial Park. Sybil lived her entire life in Browns Summit and was very active in the community. She was a member of the Brown Summit United Methodist Church and founding member of the Sunshine Club. She was employed by the Guilford County School System for 34 years as a teacher’s assistant, was a member of the Eastern Star Masonic Lodge for 60 years, and a volunteer with the American Heart Association. She was preceded in death by her parents, Russell Herbin and Ila Faucette Herbin; husband, Thomas Jackson Shreve; son, Richard Anthony Shreve. She is survived by her sisters, Theda Gerringer, Rachel Troxler, and Billie Coltrane; grandsons, Tommy Shreve and wife, Melissa, Anthony Shreve, Timothy Shreve and wife, Cathy, all of Browns Summit, Tyler Shreve of Eden; great grandchildren, Justin Shreve, and wife, Darlene of Wilmington, NC, Joshua Shreve, Maddie Horne, and Hailey Shreve, all of Browns Summit. The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 21st from 7:00 – 9:00 PM. Other times the family will be at the home of Tommy and Melissa Shreve, 2150 Scott Road, Browns Summit. The family would like to thank the staff at Ashton Place Health and Rehab for all their loving care.
