Sylvia Vaughn

Reidsville: Sylvia Y. Vaughn, 82, passed away on August 29, 2017. A graveside service will be held at Evergreen Memory Gardens Friday, September 1 at 2:00 P.M with Pastor Heath Lloyd officiating. The family will receive friends at their home on 2325 Sunnycrest Drive, Reidsville, NC. Sylvia was born in Rockingham County, to the late Calvin T. Yarborough and Gladys DeHart Yarborough. She was the oldest Fieldcrest Cannon employee and was an avid reader. She loved water skiing, bowling and gardening. Most of all she loved her family including her pets. Along with her parents, Sylvia was preceded in death by her husband George E. Vaughn, Jr.; sister, Sonia Y. Baulding; brother, Leo W. Yarborough; brother-in-law, Samuel H. Robertson Jr. Sylvia is survived by her son Timothy W. Vaughn; sister, Sharon Y. Robertson; nephew, Chuck Hodgin, Jr.; best friend Merrilee Massey. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Rockingham County at P.O Box 281, Wentworth, NC 27375.
