Teresa Watson Ellis

Teresa Watson Ellis, 52, went home to be with the Lord, on September 17, 2020 at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center in Salisbury, NC. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, September 22, 2020, at Wilkerson Funeral Home, burial will follow at Evergreen Memory Gardens with Reverend Eric Lineberry officiating. For those whom are unable to attend, her service will be live streamed from www.wilkersonfuneral.com starting at the time of the service. Teresa was born on August 3, 1968 to Charles Henry Watson, Jr. and the late Faye Dean Watson in Atlanta, Georgia. She graduated from Rockingham County High school in 1986 and was an avid lifelong Carolina Tarheel Basketball fan. Growing up, she enjoyed playing softball, gymnastics, dance and especially spending time with her friends. She spent many years working in the restaurant industry and thoroughly enjoyed working with her co-workers and customers. Her favorite place to vacation with her husband, James, was Myrtle Beach. Teresa is known for her collection of apple items which she displayed proudly throughout her home. She was a very intelligent woman with multiple degree’s, but she was especially good with Math. She was a devout Christian who looked forward to one day meeting her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ; and reuniting with her mother, grandmother, grandfather, and other relatives and friends who passed before her. Teresa was cherished by all who knew her and will be dearly missed by all. She is survived by her husband, James Ellis; daughter, Taylor Hamlett; son, Cody Hamlett; father, Charles H. Watson, Jr. and wife Lynne; step-father, Joe Slaughter; brother’s, Chuck Watson and Kevin Watson; in addition to numerous nieces, and other extended family. Teresa is preceded in death by her mother, Faye Dean Watson; grandparents, Ed and Doris Page; grandmother, Carolyn Timmons. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Calvary Baptist Church Relay for Life Team, 7860 NC-87, Reidsville, NC 27320.
