Teresa Tolley Jernigan Smith

Reidsville – Teresa Tolley Jernigan “T.J.” Smith, 57 of 1401 Wentworth Street, passed away Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at her home.A memorial service will be held at 1:30 PM on Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel.Teresa Smith was born on October 30, 1953 to the late Marion Randolph and Pauline Knowles Tolley. Teresa had a strong will of faith and loved her beloved husband, William. She loved going to the beach, playing at Cherokee and watching her favorite shows on T.V. Teresa was a self-taught individual who was willing to tackle anything that entered her path. Those that knew her loved her because of her creative ways and strong voice of opinion. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Christler Smith, daughter, Tara Jernigan Hutchens and step-mother, Janet Wine Tolley.She is survived by her sons; William Jernigan and Robert Darrell Jernigan and fiancée, Kim Hendrix and Thomas Wyatt Hutchens all of Reidsville; grandchildren, Madison Lee Jernigan, William “Randy” Jernigan, Christler Hutchens and Janet Faye Hutchens; brothers and sisters, Lillian Faye Burris of Florida, Delores Somers of North Carolina, Andrew Tolley of South Carolina and Marcine “Marci” Tolley-Berkhimer of Tennessee. The family will receive friends at the home of the son, Robert at 2923 Vance Street Ext. on Monday, June 7th, starting at 7:30 PM and other times at 1401 Wentworth Street.
