Teresa Lee Mundy Johnson, 72, of 100 Windemere Dr, went home to be with The Lord on February 18, 2021 at Moses Cone Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church with Rev. Eric Lineberry officiating. The burial will follow in the church cemetery. Although there is limited seating inside, the family would love to welcome all to the graveside for a time to see the family afterwards. In consideration of the family please remember social distancing and wear a mask. Teresa will be available for viewing at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Monday from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
Teresa was born in Draper, NC to the late, Russell Lee, Sr. and Esther Yearout Mundy. She was a graduate of Morehead High School and received an Associate’s Degree where she was in the first graduating class at Rockingham Community College’s Registered Nurse Program, Class of 1968. While attending class she met and married the love of her life, Andrew Johnson. They enjoyed over 50 years of marriage together. She retired from Morehead Memorial Hospital with over 46 years of dedicated service. Teresa was a longtime and faithful member of Mt Carmel United Methodist where she sang in the choir, served on committees and was a member of the Good Samaritan Circle and the United Methodist Women. Time with family was her main focus and she especially enjoyed family trips to the beach and the annual NASCAR Speed Week / Daytona 500 trip. Her greatest joy was attending her children and grandchildren’s sporting events, school activities, dance competitions, etc. Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by brother, Russell Lee Mundy, Jr.
She is survived by her husband Andrew Johnson; children, Natalie Strittmatter and husband Brian, Lee Nathaniel Johnson and wife Abby and Sarah Canady and husband Tim; grandchildren Lily, Luke, and Layna Strittmatter, Ryleigh Kate and Dalton Johnson and Avett Canady; sister Debbie Seawell and husband, Skipper; sisters-in-law Anne Johnson and Ina Dell Mundy; and a large extended family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her honor to Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church Building Fund or Mt Carmel UMC Children’s Ministry, 361 Mt. Carmel Church Road, Reidsville 27320.
