Thelma Louise Pickrell Brown, 85, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 1, 2021 at her home in Brown Summit with her family by her side.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00pm, on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at Lakeview Memorial Park. Mrs. Brown will be available for viewing on Monday, February 8, 2021, from 8:30am-5:00pm at Wilkerson Funeral Home.
Thelma was born on April 18, 1935 to the late Willie and Maddie Pickrell in Rockingham County. In 1953, she married Willie Worth Brown and together they raised a family in Brown Summit. Thelma always said her gift in life was a being a friend to all who knew her. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Above all, her faith in God was most important to her and she loved going to church and spending time with her church family. Thelma will be greatly missed by those who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Willie Worth Brown; sisters, Lizzie Gywnn, Irene Jarrett, Evelyn Gunn, Gladys Woods; brothers, Eugene Pickrell, Thomas Pickrell, Robert Pickrell and Jasper Pickrell.
She is survived by her sons, Kenneth W. Brown and wife Jan, Donnie Brown; grandchildren, Kenneth B. Brown and wife Penny, Kelly S. Brown and wife Debra, Kevin R. Brown and wife Ashely; great-grandchildren, Chase Brown, Ryker Brown, Brooklyn Brown; brother, Alton Pickrell and wife Iris; sister, Esther Craddock and husband Bobby; in addition to numerous nieces and nephews.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Greensboro, Authocare-2500 Summit Avenue, Greensboro, NC 27405.
