Reidsville– Thelma “Polly” Clifton, 75, of 8114 US Hwy 29, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 10, 2013 at her home with her family by her side.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM on Monday, May 13, 2013 at Ruffin Stacey Baptist Church with Dr. Beau Cooksey and Rev. Mike Tillman officiating. Pallbearers will be Justin Wright, Josh Moore, Doug Woodson, Jesse Clifton, Dakota Spence and Cameron Bridges. The family will see friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Polly was born in Stuart, Virginia to the late Bronzie and Lottie Barrett Spence. She was a lifetime caregiver to many people and of the Baptist faith. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her children, Roy Clifton and James Jessie Clifton and brother, Odell Spence.
Survivors include her son, Mike Clifton and wife Dale; daughters, Connie Clifton and fiance, David Bergquist of Ashville, Eunice Wright of Eden, Dora Lee Clifton and fiance, Doug Woodson, Yvonne Stone and husband, Clayton both of Reidsville; Zane Massie, Cameron Bridges, Kenneth Clifton, Chrissie Wright, Justin Wright, Jesse Clifton, Buck Stone and fiance, Lisa Roberts, Susie Jeffries, Melissa Ellington and husband, Jack, Pastor Robbie Powell and wife, Shannon Parker and Kyle Loftis; 6 great grandchildren; sisters, Molly Blakely of High Point, Sandy Cecil of Trinity, Kay Flannery and Kathy Lackey both of Sophia; brothers, Johnny Spence of Sophia, David Spence of Trinity, Tony Spence and Kenny Spence both of Archdale and Ronnie Spence of Danville, Va.
