Brown Summit –Theresa Herbin Apple concluded her courageous earthly journey and was welcomed into the throne room of heaven on Wednesday, December 5, 2012.
Theresa was born on October 2, 1938 to her loving parents Norman and Bertha Herbin. She married Richard Apple on November 17, 1956 and their union was blessed by two sons, Rick Apple (wife Cissie) of Brown Summit and Andy Apple (wife Patty) of Surfside Beach, SC. Theresa, known to her beloved grandchildren as MeeMee, is survived by Gena Turner of Whitsett, Drew Apple (wife Caroline) of Mount Pleasant, SC, Patrick Apple (bride-elect Maggie Wyman) of Charlotte, Taylor Apple of Hollidaysburg, PA, Gantt Apple of Raleigh and great-grandchildren Cierra and Mason Turner of Whitsett. Theresa was loved deeply by sisters Becky Dixon (husband Jimmy) of Brown Summit and Patty Herbin of Gibsonville. Theresa is survived by a brother Alvin N. Herbin (wife Virginia) of Gibsonville.
Theresa was a gifted and inspirational Bible steward sharing her love for the Scriptures through her participation in Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) and years as a Sunday school teacher. Theresa’s faith was the cornerstone of her life and she never missed an opportunity to share her faith with everyone she met. Her gift of hospitality and outreach touched lives throughout the northeastern part of Guilford County as well as internationally on the mission field. She and her husband are known throughout Guilford County as great stewards of the farming lifestyle. Theresa loved to garden and was always renewed by God’s bounty with each season.
A celebration of Theresa’s life will be held on Sunday, December 9, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Apple’s Chapel Church on Highway 61. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
