Thomas Carlton Barber, 75, passed away early Thursday, January 19, 2017 at Annie Penn Hospital.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, January 21, 2017, at Hickory Grove United Methodist Church with Rev. Gene Davis officiating. Visitation for the family will follow the service in the fellowship hall of Hickory Grove Church and other times at the home.
Mr. Barber was born June 18, 1941 to the late Thomas Kermit Barber and Connie Hyler Barber. Carlton was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved gardening and was truly the “Mayor of Williamson Creek Road.” He was always joking and gossiping with neighbors and relatives. Carlton was a fan of Nascar and was of the Baptist faith. He served in the US Army from 1959 till 1963.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Clark Barber of the home; daughters: Cindy Barber of Ruffin, Tracy Ledwell (Richard) of Texas and Kelly Barber (Darlene) of Orilia, Canada; stepson, Mark Coe (Karen) of Browns Summit; stepdaughter, Mindy Coe Scott of Roxboro; step grandchildren: Courtney Scott, Roman Scott, Brittain Scott, Lauren Byers and Joshua Knight; a step great-grandson, Colt Byers; sisters: Bernice Barber Hammock (Kenny) of Danville, VA, Brenda B. Barber (Johnny) of Ruffin, and Karen Autry of Reidsville; and a brother, Butch Barber of Danville.
