“Tommy” Floyd Fretwell, II, 32 of 2925
NC Highway 14, went home to be with the Lord on
Saturday June 21, 2008 at Moses
Cone Memorial
Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 6:00 PM, Tuesday, June 24th
at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Mr. John Kimmons officiating. Interment will be at a later date in a local
cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be
Kevin Thompson, Brad Sparks, Steven Tuttle, Jason Swain, Brice Holliman, Joe
Vyhnanek and Willy Coe.
Tommy was born in Guilford
County and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and received his
Associates Degree from Rockingham
Community College in
Industrial Systems Technology. He was a
recipient of the Train and Gain Scholarship from Miller Brewing in Eden and was a self employed carpenter and an avid Carolina
Tarheel Fan. He touched many lives, even in death, with his decision to be an
organ donor. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Ruth
Chandler and paternal grandparents, Zeb and Claudia Fretwell.
He is survived by his wife, Ashley Barker Fretwell; sons,
Jeremy Tyler Moricle and Thomas “T” Floyd Fretwell, III; daughter, Hailey Corrine Fretwell, all of Reidsville;
father, Thomas “Tommy” Floyd Fretwell, Sr. and wife, Fran of Greensboro;
mother, Cynthia Chandler Boger and husband, David of Greensboro; sisters,
Melanie Fretwell Thompson and husband, Kevin and Brittany Michelle Fretwell,
all of Eden; maternal grandfather, Albert Chandler of Reidsville; a large
extended family and many friends.
The family will receive friends immediately following the
service on Tuesday evening at Wilkerson Funeral Home until 9:00 PM and also on
Wednesday afternoon at the home of Carl and Faye Stone. Other times the family will be at three
separate residences; Jeff and Sheri Barker, 536 John Street, Eden; David and Cindy Boger, 3 Drakestone Court, Greensboro; Carl and Faye Stone, 570 Brown Road, Reidsville.
