Thomas Fredrick Hardy

Reidsville: Thomas Fredrick Hardy, 88, of 153 Cox St., passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2014, at Annie Penn Hospital. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, November 21, 2014 at Baptist Temple Church with Rev. John Groff officiating. The entombment will follow in Evergreen Memory Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 7-9 PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home. Mr. Hardy was born on May 12, 1926, in Rockingham County to the late Lemuel Fredrick Hardy and Nannie Small Hardy. He was a member of Baptist Temple Church where he enjoyed singing in the choir. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting and woodwork. He was a dedicated husband and father. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II from 1944-1946. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife Evelyn Smith Hardy and his brother, Lemuel “Red” Hardy. He is survived by his daughters, Phyllis Hendrix, Donna Fulton, Paige Hicks and husband Robert and Penny Moore and husband Dale; his grandchildren, Kimberly Merricks, Jim Hendrix, Brian Hendrix, Jason Chilton, Travis Chilton, Robert Southard, Jonathan Moore and Ashley Moore; his great grandchildren, Katie and Rachel Merricks, Breanna Chilton, Kinleigh Moore and Blayden Lucas; his sister, Rebecca Brown and numerous nieces and nephews.
