Thomas Key

Browns Summit, NC–Thomas “Tom” Gilmer Key, 72, passed away peacefully Friday, December 23, 2016 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at Osceola Baptist Church with Rev. Randal Shaw officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and the burial will follow in the church cemetery. Tom was a native of Rockingham County and son of the late Howard and Lou Ellen Key. He was a member of Osceola Baptist church. Tom retired from the University Of North Carolina Of Greensboro. Over the years, he enjoyed cooking to raise money for various charities. He is survived by his brothers, H.S. Key and wife, Sandra, James Key and Ricky Key; sisters, Becky Haithcock, Janice Gilley and husband, Marshall and Sandra Apple and husband, Ronnie; and numerous nieces and nephews.
