Thomas Robertson Massey

Reidsville- Mr. Thomas Robertson Massey, 82, of 310 McCoy Rd., Reidsville, NC, died on Thursday, January 16, 2014, in Reidsville. Mr. Massey was born in Reidsville, NC, on February 24, 1931, to Thomas E. and Lodies Robertson Massey. He was a lifelong lover of fine music. He loved to sing and play the piano and later in life was a professional pianist. He was a very witty person, he loved to cut up with the nurses and never met a stranger. He served in the US Army for two years. He attended East Side Baptist Church. He owned and operated a successful business, Massey's Rockingham Furniture. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. Thomas Massey is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Gail Hicks Massey of Reidsville; his son Rev. Tommy Massey and wife Starr of Reidsville; three grandchildren, Thomas, Gage and Gracen Massey; step-children, Lisa Parson of Madison and Randy Hurd and wife Kecia of Madison and brother, Ralph Massey and wife Eunice of Winson-Salem. The family will receive visitors at East Side Baptist Church from 6-8 PM, on Friday, January 17, 2014 and other times at the home. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM, on Saturday, January 18, 2014, at East Side Baptist Church with Rev. Gene Davis and Rev. Tommy Massey officiating. Burial will follow at Reidlawn Cemetery.
