Thomas Linton Peterman, 82, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 17, 2023. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Thomas was born in Davidson County, TN to the late Hamilton Hume Peterman and Grace Katherine Berger. He loved camping, traveling and his family. Tom will forever be lovingly remembered as a father and grandpa. He was one of the sweetest souls anyone could ever meet. He had a wonderful sense of humor and a contagious laugh that will live in our hearts always. At family get-togethers, he was the life of the party with his jokes and funny faces he would make. He kept this up until the end, even sharing a funny face with the nurses while in the hospital. He was known for coming up with the funniest sayings that would leave people in stitches. A couple of those are ‘My names Jimmy and I’ll take what you give me” and “They are one fry short of a happy meal.” They were silly sayings but anyone who knew him knew to expect something like that from him. Tom’s heart was so gracious, kind and giving to anyone in need. He loved his church family and being able to share the word of God with them. He enjoyed singing songs of praise when he had the chance. He was involved in a nursing home ministry that just blessed his heart and blessed those he spoke with. He truly was the hands and feet of Jesus wherever he went. His memory will forever be embedded in our hearts. There are no goodbyes to say today, but only to say until we see you again.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Louis and Jim Peterman; sister, Ann Peterman.
Tom is survived by the mother of his children, Sue Peterman; children, Chris Peterman (Donna), Tonya Gundy (Bill); grandchildren, Stormi, Tyler, Caleb, Bella; great grandchildren, Ryder, Daniel and Sage as well as a loving group of extended family and friends.
