Reidsville - Thomas "Tommy" Carlton Stone, Jr., 41, of 281 Apple Road, died on Saturday, August 4, 2012 at UNC Chapel Hill Hospital.Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev Doug Bray officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memory Gardens.Tommy was born in Rockingham County to Vernie Tate Stone and the late Thomas Carlton Stone, Sr. He was a former employee of East Side Tire and Auto and a member of Rock Of Ages Baptist Church. He enjoyed going to cruise-ins and tractor pulls. Surviving are his wife , Cathy Apple Stone; son, Matthew Stone; mother, Vernie Tate Stone; sisters, Kathy Gwin and husband, Marty, Darlene Moore and husband, Alvin and Tammy Farmer and husband, Jay; three nieces and one nephew and his faithful companion, Kody.The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 PM, Tuesday evening August 7, 2012 at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at the home of his mother, 705 Meadow Branch Road.Tommy was a strong advocate for organ donation and would urge everyone to consider being an organ donor.
