Reidsville- T.M. “Tank” Strader, 87, of 505 Pennrington Circle, went home to be with his Lord on Sunday, November 30, 2014.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesay, December 3rd at Covington Wesleyan Church with Rev. Ralph Clayton officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memory Gardens.
Tank was born in Rockingham County to the late James Edward Strader and Gillie Mae Brame Strader. He served in the US Navy as a Seaman First Class and later retired from American Tobacco Company after 44 years of service. He was a member of Covington Wesleyan Church for 42 years, was an avid fisherman and hunter and loved the Duke Blue Devils. He was a member of the Lucky Strike Baseball Team as well as umpiring and coaching baseball over the years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Odell and David W. Strader.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Margaret Bolejack Strader, of the home; sons, J. Harold Strader and Frank Strader; daughter, Brenda Ware and husband, Dennis; five grandchildren, Shaun Ware, Heather Welch, Mae Ware, Scott Strader, and Julie Eastwood; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Kenneth Strader.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM, Tuesday, December 2nd at Covington Church, and other times at the home of Frank Strader, 1310 Ridgewood Avenue, Reidsville
