Tom Brett Ayers

Reidsville: Tom Brett Ayers, 85, of 1019 Sherwood Drive, passed away on Wednesday, April 20, 2016, at his home after several years of declining health. Tom was born in York County, South Carolina on April 13, 1931 to Obie Brett and Kathleen Warren Ayers. He was preceded in death by his parents and his stepmother, Margaret J. Ayers and by two brothers and two sisters. Survivors include his wife, Mae Hathaway Ayers of the home; children, Brett Ayers and wife, Carolyn of Winona, Minnesota, Lori Ayers Greene and husband, Timothy of Reidsville and Adam Ayers and wife, Ann of Albany, New York; grandchildren, Andy Ayers, Elaine Ayers, Alex Greene Preston and husband, Bryant, Cara Greene, Amelia Ayers and Louisa Ayers; great grandchildren, Fisher Preston and Walker Preston and a brother, Joseph Ayers of Spencer, NC. Tom was employed by Burlington Industries for 33 years and retired as the Plant Manager of the Stokesdale Drapery Plant. He was a loving husband and father and will be greatly missed. By Mr. Ayers’ request there will be no formal services.
