Tony Preston Shoemaker

Reidsville– Tony Preston Shoemaker, 67, of 1221 Rockingham Lake Road died Wednesday, February 18, 2009 at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, February 21, 2009 at Burton Memorial Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. James Hodges officiating. Pallbearers are Dwayne Shoemaker, Dale Shoemaker, Carl McKinney, Robert Shoemaker, Kenneth Shoemaker, Norman Shoemaker and Wayne Paschal. Interment will follow in New Hope Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Tony was born in Davidson County to the late Preston Arnold and Ruby Gooch Shoemaker. He retired from Unifi, was a self employed welder and a member of Burton Memorial Missionary Baptist Church. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Doug and Carson Shoemaker. He is survived by his wife, Jane Campbell Shoemaker of the home; sons, Dwayne Shoemaker and wife, Beth, Dale Shoemaker and wife, Alicia; daughter, Connie McKinney and husband, Carl; grandchildren, Crystal and C. J. McKinney, Christopher and Stephen Shoemaker, Robert and Kenneth Shoemaker; brothers, Larry , David, Norman and Johnny Shoemaker and sister, Linda Hamilton. The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral home from 6:00-8:00PM Friday, February 20, 2009. At other times the family will be at the residence.
