Tony Lee Walker

Reidsville- Tony Lee Walker Sr., 53, of 230 Palm Road, went home to be with the Lord Sunday February 13, 2011 at his home. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, February 18, 2011 at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Loftis and Rev. James Lopez officiating. Military rites will be held after the memorial service. Tony was born on November 29, 1957 in Rockingham Co. to Geraldine Clifton Boman and the late James H. “Jack” Walker. He was a hard working man who worked for Mechanical Specialty Inc. in Greensboro for four years before his illness forced him to retire. Tony loved his family, hunting, fishing, camping but most of all he loved God. He was strong in his faith in God, and through all his journeys of being sick he never lost that love and compassion. He had attended Reidsville Church of God but was currently attending Pleasant View Assembly of God. He was a loving husband, dad, son, brother and great friend. Along with his father, Tony is preceded in death by, his older brother, Danny Lee Walker; his step-son, Greg Bulls; his grandparents, Bronza and Lula Clifton, and Lena Wyatt and Jesse Walker. Tony is survived by his wife, Tab Walker of the home, his son Tony Lee Walker Jr. and wife, Cristy; three grandchildren, Lennex, Austin and Paige; mother, Geraldine Clifton Walker Bowman and husband, Robert; brother, Alan Walker; three sisters, Patricia Walker Canter and husband, Ken, Jenny Walker Pestik and husband, Jay, Tammy Walker Waller and husband, Jamie all of Reidsville; numerous nieces and nephews, and friends. Throughout Tony\'s illness we have learned never to give up or to loose our faith but most of all to keep on loving God. The family will receive friends from 6– 8 pm on Thursday, February 17th at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at the home of his mother, Geraldine, 604 Lawsonville Ave., Reidsville. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Tony’s honor to Hospice of Rockingham County, P.O. Box 281, Wentworth, N.C., 27375.
