Reidsville – Tyler Vance Gann, 86, of 1708 South Park Drive, passed away Saturday, September 5, 2009 at Annie Penn Hospital. Funeral service will be held 2:00 PM on Monday, September 7, 2009 at Baptist Temple Church with Rev George Fox and Rev. John Groff officiating. Interment will follow in Reidlawn Cemetery. Mr. Gann was born in Rockingham County to the late Nathaniel Grady and Rosa Martin Gann. He was a retiree of The American Tobacco Company with 42 years service as a fixer. He was a faithful and loyal member of Baptist Temple Church of which he dearly loved. He enjoyed playing rook and was a people person with a remarkable memory. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Opal Johnson Gann and brother, James Gann. Survivors include his daughters, Toneka Gann Bryant and husband, Frank, Denise Gann Parks; grandchildren, Kasonya Tallent, Roan Pruitt and wife, Sherry, Dr. Srephanie Pezzo, Dr. Lauren Golding and husband, Dr. Jay Golding; great grandchildren, Jessica Woodruff, Brandy Pruitt, William Pruitt, Elle Golding; great great grandchild, Ariana Woodruff; brother, Gilbert Gann; sisters, Lena Martin, Elsie Hampton and husband, Raymond, Betty Springer, Mildred Hill and husband, Charles. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 7-9 PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at the home and also at the home of Denise, 1324 South Park Drive.
