Vergie Conner Sutton

Madison – Vergie Conner Sutton, 94, passed away on Saturday June 1, 2013. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 13, 2013 at Pleasantville Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Ralph Clayton officiating. Mrs. Sutton was born on March 27, 1919 to the late Robert Emmitt and Martha Varner Conner in Patrick County, Virginia and has lived in Rockingham County since 1930. She graduated from Wentworth High School. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, of 54 years, Charles Clyde Sutton, her son, Clyde Jarrell Sutton, her sister Dorothy Conner Thore and her brothers, Harry Conner, Howard Conner, Charles Conner and Moyer Conner. Survivors include her daughter, Linda Sutton Evans and her husband, Randy of Rocky Mount; her daughter-in-law, JoAnne Cox Sutton of Madison; her grandchildren, Cathy Sutton Martin and her husband, Ricky, Mark Sutton and his wife, Carolyn, Alyson Evans Beha and her husband, Jim and Tripp Evans and his wife, Caroline and her great grandchildren, Katelyn Sutton, Rebecca Sutton and Jimmy Beha. The family wishes to express special thanks to the doctor, nurses and staff of Jacob’s Creek Nursing Home for their loving care and assistance to make her life much better.
