Vernon Roosevelt Farmer

Reidsville: Mr. Vernon R. “Buddy” Farmer, 80, of Reidsville passed on Thursday, January 8th, 2015 at his home. Mr. Farmer was born in Stokes County on January 24th, 1934 to the late Arthur Franklin and Ethel Beasley Farmer. He was retired from Johnson Controls in Atlanta, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters. Survivors include his wife: Marie Farmer of Reidsville; one daughter, Julia Schival and husband, Andy of Roswell, Georgia; two granddaughters, Caitlin Schival and Kelsey Schival; one brother, Bobby Farmer of Reidsville; two sisters, Peggy Johnson and husband, Neil and Frances Walker all of Reidsville; numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Monday, January 12th, 2015 at eleven o’clock at Wilkerson Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
