Vernon Eugene Lewis

Ruffin– Vernon Eugene Lewis, 80, of 683 Joe Cobb Road, passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at Moses Cone Hospital. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at Reedy Fork Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Bullard officiating. Mr. Lewis was born in Guilford County to the late Otha and Zola Gregory Lewis and was a truck driver with Standard Trucking. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Jack Lewis and Kim Ki Sok Lewis. Survivors include his children, Janet Gordon and husband, Richard, Janice Howell, Phillip Lewis and wife, Alice, Susan Furr and husband, David, Cindy Deans and husband, Kelly and Lee Lewis and wife, Andrea; eight grandchildren: eleven great grandchildren; sisters, Lorene Pegram and Norma Williams. The family expresses special thanks to Teresa Reedy and Highgrove Assisted Living of Reidsville.
