Violet Collie Gelinas

Reidsville- Violet Collie Gelinas, 68, went to be with Jesus, on Monday, June 23, 2014 at her home. Funeral services will be held 3:00PM on Thursday, June 26, 2014 at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mickey Alcorn officiating. Interment will follow in Reidlawn Cemetery. The family will see friends one hour prior to the service from 2-3 PM and other times at the home of Ashley Wyatt, 481 Live Oak Road. Violet was born in Danville, Va. to the late George Thomas Collie, Jr. and Hazel Perkins Collie. She was a retiree of Golden Belt, a member of Bible Baptist Church and was a very loving sister and aunt. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her sisters, Laura Laws, Georgie Simpson and Mildred Bray. Survivors include her son, Norman Wesley Bray, Jr. and wife Annette; her precious grandchildren, McKenzie Bray and Preston Bray; brothers, George Thomas “G.T” Collie and wife, Brenda and John Michael Collie and wife, Vikki; sisters, Jennie Collie Scott and Al and Lena Collie Wall and husband, Don; brothers-in-law, Aubrey Simpson, Dillard Laws and Wayne Bray; her special “Baby Cakes” for all her love and care and a precious group of very special nieces and nephews.
