Wade Spencer Tate

Reidsville – Wade Spencer Tate, 70, of Golden Living at Starmount, passed away Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at the nursing home. Graveside funeral services will be held 12:00 noon, Friday, December 17, 2010 at Reidlawn Cemetery with Rev. Marvin Bowman officiating. Mr. Tate was born in Rockingham County, NC to the late Aubrey and Lillian Paschal Tate. He was a retired tobacco farmer. He was a man of faith and loved to sing. Mr. Tate was an avid fisherman. He was always friendly, outgoing and optimistic. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Smith Tate and his brother, Grady Tate. Mr. Tate is survived by his daughter, Wanda Mabe of Eden; 4 grandchildren; brothers, Felton Tate and wife, Juanita of Augusta, GA, Clyde Tate and wife, Frances of Greensboro, Larry Tate and wife, Ann of Reidsville; sisters, Sadie Zimmeran and husband, Harold and Vernie Stone and husband, Tommy all of Reidsville; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Thursday, December 16 at Wilkerson Funeral Home from 5 – 7:00 PM and other times at Larry and Ann’s home (2208 Gibbs Road).
