Reidsville: Walter David Montgomery, 84, of 1240 Mount Carmel Church Road, died Sunday, September 25, 2011 at Wesley Long Hospital, Greensboro, N. C. .Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00PM, Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at Draper Christian Church with interment to follow in Mount Carmel United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Robert Johnson and Rev. Gary Wackler officiating.Walt was born in Stokes County to the late Franklin Lee and Susie Craig Montgomery. He was a retired Electrical Engineer/Contractor from Belk Department Stores. In addition to his Parents, he was preceded in death by a son Walter David Montgomery, Jr.; 5 Sisters and 5 Brothers.He is survived by his wife, Betty S. Montgomery of the home, a daughter, Sarah M Bond and husband Charles of Greensboro, N. C.; three stepsons, Ernie Roach and wife, Lisa of Cherryville, N. C.; Kenneth W. Roach of Michigan; Timothy L. Roach of Reidsville, N. C.; Grandson, Brent Lawson and wife, Peggy of Lawsonville, N. C; Great Granddaughter, Hannah Lawson; 11 Step Grandchildren and 4 Step Great Grandchildren.The family will receive friends at the Wilkerson Funeral Home, Tuesday, September 27, 2011 from 6 to 8 PM and other times at the residence.Memorials may be made to Alzhimer's Association, Carolina Piedmont Chapter, 3420 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte, NC 28215.
