Wendy Lynn Statzer

Wendy Lynn Statzer (McGarry/Brady), 58 passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2024, in Reidsville North Carolina.

Wendy was born in Vallejo California to the late Robert “Bob” Patrick McGarry and Vicky Lee Myers.

Wendy is survived by her husband of 11 years, David Statzer; her daughters, Heather (Brady) Carpenter (Stephen), Jessica(Brady) Pardue (Jacob); grandsons, Tyler, Kaeden, Caleb and Colton Carpenter. Her lifelong friends Debbye Hanson, Estelle Grange, Karen Sullivan and Paul & Jackie Pagliuso. As well as a large and loving group of extended family and friendsnationwide.

Wendy, aka Little Blond Irish Girl was honest, open, loving, caring, sharing, sincere, loyal, strong, positive, smart, beautiful, inquisitive, clever, industrious, mechanically inclined, creative, forgiving, idea person, inventive, organized, optimistic, funny, best friend, partner in crime, strong willed, admired and loved by all. She never knew a stranger and always maintained the highest integrity. Her smile could light up even a stranger.

Wendy spent her young years riding horses and motorcycles, partaking in school diving, gymnastics and “having fun” with her dad (Bob) and loving group of friends between California and Utah. Wendy put herself through college to get her nursing license as an LVN.

Wendy “Mimi” spent many years with her daughters Heather and Jessica participating in several roles in youth cheerleading and youth softball. She loved her daughters and grandsons dearly.

In her retirement, Wendy loved to try making new recipes with David and even learned to run sound equipment for her husband and his bands. She was an avid reader of novels and loved to tend to her gardens of roses and irises, while listening to her windchimes blow in the breeze.

Wendy will be missed dearly by family and friends, as she was gone way too soon.

We Love You Mimi (Breezy/Toots)! Second star to the right and straight on ‘til morning…

“Cowgirl don’t cry, Ride, Baby, Ride. Lessons in life show us all in time, too soon God will let you know why. If you fall get right back on. The good Lord calls everybody home. Cowgirl don’t cry”

You are my light, my rock, my strength, soulmate, companion and friend and I know your spirit will always be with me. Thank you for your love without exemption.

“I'm the beat in your heart, I'm the moonlight shining down, I'm the whisper in the wind And I'll be there until the end, Can you feel the love that we share? Oh, I'm already there

We may be a thousand miles apart But I'll be with you wherever you are

I'm already there”

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in her honor to local youth sports programs. No matter the sport Wendy loved to ensure that all children had a chance to play, learn, laugh, and have fun.
