Reidsville – William Jackson “Jackie” Cobb, 74, of 151 Grady Road went to meet his savior after a battle of COPD and heart problems on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at Hospice Home of Rockingham County. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, March 23, 2013 at Lawsonville Road Baptist Church with Pastor Ron Tuck and Pastor Garfield Doss officiating. Interment will follow in Reidlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Carl Sutton, Randy Fulp, Dwayne Smith, Mike Green, Tommy Perkins, Tommy Harrelson, J.C. Cobb and Dwight Lucas. Jackie was born January 20, 1939 to the late Melba Bea Cobb Vaughn in Caswell County. He lived most of his life in Reidsville and retired from Sears and Roebuck Company after 39 years of service. He also worked part-time with T&J security. He was an avid fisherman and deer hunter. Jackie loved sharing with others about Jesus and was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his mother, Melba Bea Cobb Vaughn and his son, William Dixon “Dickie” Cobb. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Carolyn Fulp Cobb; daughter, Cindy Coghill and husband, Greg; grandchildren, Paul Higgins (Jasmine), Jeremy Cobb, John Coghill, Heather Cobb and Emily Coghill, great-granddaughter, Kirsten Cobb,daughter-in-law, Patricia M. Cobb; sisters-in-law, Vickie Sutton and Jeanette Foley; brother-in-law, Randy Fulp; many extended special family members and his little side-kick, Sparky. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 22, 2013 from 6-8 PM at Lawsonville Road Baptist Church and other times at the home.
