Ruffin, N.C. – William “Dickie” Dixon Cobb, 49, of 751 Joe Cobb Road, passed away on Sunday, February 6, 2011 at Moses Cone Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, February 10, 2011 at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ron Tuck officiating. The interment will follow in Reidlawn Cemetery.
Dickie was born in Rockingham County to William Jackson and Carolyn Fulp Cobb and was an employee of Southeastern Freight Lines. He was a member of Lawsonville Road Baptist Church and the Triad Bloodhound Team. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and most of all, a loving son, husband, father, grandfather and brother. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Melba Cobb Vaughn and maternal grandparents, Carl and Edith Fulp.
Survivors include his wife, Trish Cobb; children, Paul Richard Higgins, Jr. and wife, Jasmine, Jeremy Dixon Cobb and wife, Natasha and Heather Deane Cobb; grandchildren, Kirsten Cobb and Jordan Wilmet; father and mother, Jackie and Carolyn Cobb; sister, Cindy Cobb Coghill and husband, Greg; numerous nieces and nephews; father and mother-in-law, Edward and Peggy Martin; brothers-in-law, Eddie Martin and wife, Diane and Charles Martin and Latina; and his side kick, Harley.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at Wilkerson Funeral Home from 6:00 – 8:00 PM and other times at the home of his parents, 151 Grady Road.
