William Edward Evans

William Edward "Bill" Evans, 81, of Ruffin, North Carolina passed away on August 23, 2024, after a lengthy illness. 

There will be a graveside service on August 28 at 1 PM held at Happy Home Church Cemetery with Pastor Jerry Lankford officiating. The family will receive visitors following the service in the fellowship hall. 

Bill was born May 24, 1943, to Tony and Elizabeth Evans. He lived in Florida from 1971 until he returned to NC in 2020. He was an avid golfer and earned two hole-in-one awards. He loved all kinds of music and enjoyed playing the guitar. Bill also collected and sold vintage dishes and pottery for many years.

Bill was predeceased by his daughter, Vanessa Renee Ward; his parents, Tony and Elizabeth Evans; his brothers, Lindsey Evans and Jack Evans; and his sisters, Irene Spangler, Mildred Spangler, Margaret Boyter and Mary Spangler. 

He is survived by his daughters, Cheryl Dawn Burns and Rhonda Evans; his brother, David Evans; his sisters, Betty Ballinger, Nancy Saunders and Frances Smallwood; and numerous nieces and nephews.
