-- View a Video -- William Severance Reidsville – William “Bill” Fred Severance, 78, of 2815 Regal Road, passed away on Thursday, August 1, 2013 at Rockingham County Hospice Home. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, August 3, 2013 at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev.Bob Peterson and Rev. Lyle Milligan officiating. Interment will follow Evergreen Memory Gardens. Bill was born in Forsyth County to the late Kenneth and Pollie Miller Severance. He was a US Army veteran serving in the Signal Corps in Germany and was a retiree of the North Carolina Department of Transportation. He was a member of College Park Baptist Church and the Jefferson Penn Masonic Lodge. Bill was very passionate about his Washington Redskins and was inducted into the Sports Hall of Fame at Chowan University. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Betty Edwards Severance of the home; children, Gail Turner and husband, Rocky, Rhonda Wheeler and husband, Ronald, Kenneth David Severance and wife, Crystal and Kim Severance and fiance Darrell Tuttle; grandchildren, Clark Turner, Leigh Wallace, Nicki Wheeler, Dustin Wheeler, Reid Severance, Carter Severance, Erika Davis and Jon Davis. The family will receive friends on Friday, August 2, 2013 from 6-8 PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at the home.
