William Claude Harrelson

Rev. William Claude Harrelson, 94, of Grooms Road, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, December 6, 2018. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Wilkerson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Reidlawn Cemetery with military graveside rites. Claude was born in Caswell County to the late George W. and Mary Somers Harrelson. He served his country faithfully during WWII as a medic in the US Army. He was a graduate of Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest and served his Lord faithfully for 55 years as a Southern Baptist Minister. Claude was selfless and made an impact on all who knew him and was a loving husband, father and adored his grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers; Harry, Herbert, Earl, and Sonny Harrelson; sisters, Ruth, Evelyn and Mae. He is survived by the love of his life and wife, Alene Paschal Harrelson, who served and supported him throughout his ministry; children, Mickey Harrelson (Elaine), Pam Wilcox, and Timothy Harrelson (Martha); grandchildren, Michael Harrelson (Christy), David Harrelson, and Adam Harrelson (Andrea), Noel Finn (Brendan), Paige Wilcox, and Amy Matthews (Kyle); 8 great grandchildren; brothers, Joe Harrelson (Mildred) and Bobby Harrelson (Connie). The family would like to thank Yvonne Harrelson Barrett for her loving support over the years. The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Friday, December 7th from 6:00 – 8:00 PM and other times the family will be at the home.
