William Lee "Pee Wee" Jefferson

William Lee (Pee Wee) Jefferson, 86, went home to be with the lord the morning of February 20, 2022. He was a native of Caswell County and the son of late Woodrow and Margaret Hall Jefferson. He born April 6, 1936. He was the last surviving sibling. He was proceeded in death by Lucy Knight, Raymond Jefferson, Vernell Willard, Barbara Jeanne Murray, Danny Jefferson, and baby Maggie. His extended but very close family, late Jack and Mamie Dyson. Jack and Mamie surviving daughters Louis Gregory and Carolyn Keck, which he considered sisters.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00PM on Tuesday February 22, 2022 at Pleasant View Assembly Of God Church Cemetery with Rev. Linwood Carver, Hospice Chaplin officiating.

Pee Wee started logging when he was 7 years old. He also worked in the textile industry and logged both for 11 years. He owned a logging and sawmill business all his life. He retired approximately 5 years ago.  He enjoyed going to Reidsville for breakfast daily and Pete’s for dinner during his retirement. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

He was survived by wife Hazel Rudd Jefferson of 24 years. He had two children Shelia Jefferson Ansell and Kenny Lee Jefferson. He had five 5 grandchildren, Ashley, Lee, Greg, Matthew, and Monica. Three great grandchildren Sawyer, Madison, and Wes. He also had two step-grandchildren Julie and Casey. He had two previous wives, Joanne Parsons, mother of his children and Grey Smith. I would have to say he had a busy life and quite a life story.

In lieu of flowers the family asks to please make donations to Rockingham County Hospice. The family will receive friends and family at the residence of Kenny Jefferson or at the home of his wife, Hazel Jefferson.
