William David Norman

Reidsville – William David Norman, 72, of 1814 Wentworth Street, died on Sunday, October 3, 2010 at the Hospice Home of Rockingham County. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM on Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at Wilkerson Funeral Home, with Rev. Ronnie Warner officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Bobby Wrenn, Donnie Wine, Mike Hill, Eddie Barker, Jr., Ray Murphy and Sammy Murphy. Mr. Norman was born in Rockingham County to the late John Roy Norman, Sr. and Maude Mae Keck Norman and was a retiree of Golden Belt Mfg. Co. with over 32 years service. He attended Elon College and Freedom Baptist Church and was in the National Guard for several years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, shooting his bow and all sports. David was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and was loved by all who knew him. He loved all kinds of animals, especially his dog “Belle” who always was at his side. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, J. R. Norman, Jr. and sister, Doris Newnam. He is survived by his wife, Faye Mitchell Norman, of the home; daughter, Kathy Norman Huffines, of Reidsville; grandson, David Lee Huffines and granddaughter, Kristin Lynn Huffines; nephew, John R. Norman, III and wife, Brenda and niece, H. Denise “Dee” Biely and husband, George. The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 5, 2010 from 7 to 9 PM and other times at the residence. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Freedom Baptist Church, 471 Stone Road, Reidsville, N.C. 27320.
