Reidsville: William Parks Lawson, 85, of 1887 US 29 Business, peacefully went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, May 12, 2016, at his home.
A celebration of his life will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, May 15, 2016, at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Rev. Ron Tuck officiating. The interment will follow in Reidlawn Cemetery. The family will welcome friends on Saturday evening from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at the home.
A native of Rockingham County, Parks was born on June 17, 1930, to the late Bill and Katie Apple Lawson. He was retired from Duke Power after 26 years. Parks and his wife were avid antique and Flea Marketers, spending many years traveling, collecting, and selling. Parks was a faithful husband, father and grandfather and was the foundation of his family.
Parks’ legacy lives on in his family; his wife of 67 years Cleo Chilton Lawson; son, Dale Lawson and wife Tammy; daughter, Regina Lovett and husband Jack; grandchildren, Jennifer Cooper, Katie Lee, Kelsey Lawson and Hunter Lawson; step grandchildren, BJ Lovett and Ashley English; four great grandchildren and one on the way; sister, Barbara Strader, and special cousins, Gail French Jones and Jimmy Lawson.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude and appreciation for the heartfelt care and support that Penn Nursing center gave their father and family in his last days.
