William Edgar Roach

Mooresville – William Edgar Roach, 88, formerly of Charlotte and Blowing Rock, died Sunday, November 2, 2008 in Mooresville, NC. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Elder Larry Tallent and Elder Dennis Witherspoon officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Mr Roach was born in Brunswick County, Va. to the late William and Mary Ann Corum Roach. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during WWII and retired from Duke Power Company after 35 years of service. His life was filled with love of family and friends but mostly he lived his life in service to the Lord as a bible student Elder. His consecration to Christ was evident to all who knew him. He was preceded in death by sisters, Emma Talley, Reeves Johnson, Inez Harrelson, Clara Shockley; brothers, Ira Roach, James Oliver Roach, Marvin Roach, and a granddaughter, Gwen Stroud. He is survived by his wife, Ailene Kizer Roach of the home; daughter, Mary Roach Franks and husband, Douglas of Las Vegas, NV; granddaughter, Margie Hilton and husband, Matthew of Mooresville, NC; numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 4, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Sybil and Curtis Fretwell, Reidsville.
