William Johnson Setliff

William Johnson Setliff, 88, of Ruffin, passed away on Monday, April 8, 2019. A funeral service will be held at Happy Home Church on Thursday, April 11, 2019 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Bruce McBride officiating. The burial will follow at the church cemetery. The family will gather to receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home Wednesday, April 10, 2019 from 6-8 PM. William was born in Rockingham County to the late Charlie Cleveland Setliff and Annie Lee Johnson Setliff. He was a veteran of the US Marine Corp, where he served faithfully during the Korean War. He retired after 30 years of service as a Lineman from Duke Energy and he was a member of the American Legion and Happy Home Church. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years, Nancy Evans Setliff; siblings, Duke Setliff, Nannie Soyars, Margaret Hodges, Bethel Setliff, Ollie Setliff, David Setliff, Jimmy Setliff, Mary Ann Setliff. He is survived by his daughter, Karen Setliff Mason and Husband Tim as well as numerous nieces, nephews and a large extended family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Happy Home Church Cemetery Fund.
