William Wilson Watlington

Martinsville, Va. - William Wilson Watlington, 97, of 1900 Dundee Lane, and formerly of Reidsville, passed away Friday, January 20, 2012 at Blue Ridge Rehab Center in Martinsville.Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at Evergreen Memory Gardens with Clay Watlington officiating and military rites performed by the Rockingham County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 1:00 -2:00 PM one hour prior to the service at Wilkerson Funeral Home. Mr. Watlington was born in Rockingham County to the late John Henry and Lena Turner Watlington and was a veteran of the US Army. He was a retired owner and operator of several gas stations in Reidsville, a member of Reidsville Christian Church and a former member of the American Legion.Along with parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Covie McCollum Watlington; brothers, Alvin, Turner, Leo, Holland and John, Jr. Watlington; sisters, Thelma Griffin and Hazel Watlington.Survivors include three nieces and two nephews.In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Reidsville Christian Church, 2020 South Park Drive, Reidsville, North Carolina 27320
