Reidsville:   Willie Lee “Billy” Chambers, 87, formerly of 1543 Barnes Street was reunited with his loving wife of 54 years after being apart for five months.   Billy passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at Avante at Reidsville. Funeral services will be held at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Friday, at 2:00PM, with Shannon Newsome officiating.   Interment will follow in Reidlawn Cemetery with military rites. Mr. Chambers was born in Rockingham County to the late Roy Lee and Carrie Wrenn Chambers.   He was a retired truck driver for G. B. Green & Son Concrete with many years of service.   He served in the US Army during WWII and fought in the Battle of the Bulge and was a member of Reidsville Christian Church.   In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes Barber Chambers. He is survived by his son, David Chambers of Reidsville; daughter, Mary Chambers Stone and husband, Randy of Reidsville; 2 grandsons, Mark Chambers and Matthew Stone; 3 nephews and 5 nieces; brother, Carl Chambers and wife, Sara of Reidsville; sisters-in-law, Corrine Reece and Donna Barber and brother-in-law, Dallas Barber and wife, Mary Jean. The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Thursday, April 24, 2008 from 7:00 – 9:00 PM.   At other times the family will be at the home of Mary and Randy Stone, 1842 Flat Rock Road. Memorial may be made to Hospice of Rockingham County, PO Box 281, Wentworth, NC 27375 or to Reidsville Christian Church 2020 South Park Drive, Reidsville, NC 27320.
