Willie Pink Ward, Jr.

Willie Pink Ward, Jr., 85, of Reidsville went home to be with the Lord on November 12, 2024. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, November 15, 2024, at Reidlawn Cemetery with Pastor Phil Surrett officiating.

Willie was born in Rockingham County to the late Willie Pink Ward, Sr., and Viola Mae Sparks Ward. Willie was a devoted father who deeply loved his daughter. He was hardworking, a loyal friend, and someone who valued integrity above all else. When Willie gave his word, he meant it. He took great pride in serving his country as a member of the U.S. Navy, and did so with unwavering dedication. Those who knew him respected him for both his actions and his character. Willie enjoyed riding motorcycles with friends and had a natural talent for working with his hands. Whether it was remodeling houses or collecting and restoring old cars, there wasn’t much he couldn’t handle. He loved living off the beaten path where he was able to feed the deer and reflect on his deep love for nature.

In addition to his parents, Willie was preceded in death by his sister Allie Ward Dunlap. He is survived by his daughter Sandie Ward; sister Callie Jones and husband Fred; grandson Arron Jones; nieces and nephews Johnny Sutherland, Robin Sutherland, Wendy Morton, and others.
