Wilson Lee Pruitt

Wilson Lee Pruitt, 85, our beloved husband, father, Papa, Grand Papa, brother, uncle and friend passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 20, 2021.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM, Saturday, July 24, 2021 at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Easter officiating. The burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery and the family will receive friends at the home after the service (177 Joe Cobb Road, Ruffin).

He was born on April 1, 1936 in Caswell County, NC to Alex Zander Pruitt and Willie Malven Adkins Pruitt. While his children were growing up he farmed and worked at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in Danville, VA, from which he retired. Wilson loved his Lord and his family above all. He was passionate about golfing with his brothers, son and grandsons, rabbit hunting and the annual family coastal fishing trip. He loved watching family members play in all sports, especially baseball and softball. He played baseball in his younger years with Dove’s Crossroads and later coached youth teams for a long time, as well. He had an orchard and garden and loved to share his bounty with others. Wilson was a 3rd Degree Mason with the Caswell Brotherhood Lodge #11. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Billie Jo Harrelson Pruitt; brothers Andrew and Jimmy and sister Rachel.

Wilson is survived by his wife, Loraine; son Tim Pruitt (Anna); daughter Janet Pruitt Reagan (Randy), sons Billy Boaz (Carol), Jamie Boaz (Brandi) and Bobby Boaz (Whitney); grandchildren, Josh, Adam (Krystal), Brooke, Paige, Will, Jacob, Braydon, Molly, Madelyn, Annabelle and Charlotte; great grandchildren Garrett and Levi, and one due in December; brother Larry “Butch” Pruitt; sisters Virginia, Sylvia, Gloria, Jannie, Joyce, Donna and Cheryl; brothers-in-law Tommy Harrelson (Pam) and Doug Johnson; sister-in-law Reva Pruitt.
